Hi, my name is Anu and I am a four year old miniature poodle. My favorite things in the whole world are going to the park to see my friends, going for hikes, wrestling with my sisters, chewing bones and meditating by the fireplace. But I started having trouble with my usual activities about four months ago because my eyes went kinda funny. I kept running into things and started to feel insecure around dogs I didn't know. Luckily my moms noticed my trouble and took me to see Dr. Hacker at Animal Eye Specialists in El Ceritto.
Dr. Hacker said that I had rapidly developing cataracts. We were all very surprised since I'm so young, but he said it's genetic. I started to prepare for surgery and in the next two weeks lost my eyesight almost completely!
So I had to have cataract surgery to restore my vision and have a normal life. I'm happy to say that I am recovering well. But, since I'm so young and spry, my moms weren't prepared for a surgery like this. That's why I'm telling you my story. My medical bills came to about $4,000. If there is any way you could help out, we would all appreciate it! Thanks so much!
